“I chose to be involved with Value of Sport because growing up I was inspired by coaches and mentors who taught me the values of team work, commitment and discipline. I honor the opportunity to instill these same qualities into the student – athletes of Manchester. I hope they too can utilize these traits to motivate their lives and become our next leaders within the community.”

“The sport of boxing has guided me through life’s most difficult challenges. If it was not for this sport, my success would not be the same. Through hard work and humbling challenges, boxing has made me a better man. The Value of Sport is priceless as it leaves a positive ripple effect for self and the community.”

“I am so excited to be a part of the Value of Sport program because of the great importance and life lessons sports have given to me in life. At times, being part of a sports family can give things to young people that may currently be lacking in their own family situations. Now more than ever, our youth need the lessons sports and extracurricular activities teach them every day.”

GOLF
“Sports has always been a way of life for me. My love of golf and skiing has led to a duel career in both sports. The sports have helped me meet incredible people and create lifelong friendships. I feel every child should have the opportunity to learn and participate in any sport they choose.”

“I have coached youth sports for over 20 years and participated in sports my whole life. All the lessons I learned on how to be successful in life, were key components in being a part of a successful sports team. Hard work, dedication, time management, putting others before yourself, leadership, communication & giving back to the community were all things I learned from sport. It was these attributes that I tried to impart on the teams I coached, so those young people could learn and grow as people and athletes. I believe the Value of Sport program will be a key component in our city to engage our youth in sports so that they can learn these skills and better connect to other members of our community. There is nothing more important we can do for our city than to lift up the youth and help them reach their true potential. I believe the Value of Sport program will be an invaluable tool for our city to make our young people be the best that they can be. That is why I am choosing to participate in this organization.”
